UK racing funding row drags on as BHA rejects Coral’s proposed contribution

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has rejected a proposal from Coral that would see the operator pay 7.5 per cent of gross win generated from betting on racing, on the basis that the contribution would be smaller than the current arrangement.

The proposal was made by Coral as part of an ongoing battle over the funding of British racing, as the industry looks for an alternative to the Horse Racing Levy, but was described by the BHA [...]
