Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has confirmed that Jack Massey has stepped down as director of investor relations and company secretary after nine years with the company.

The company said that Massey’s role will be transferred to Edward Traynor, incoming group general counsel, at the conclusion of the company's Annual General Meeting on May 14th.

Massey will leave Paddy Power at the end of August to pursue other academic, personal and business interests.

He has been with the operator for nine years, having joined the company as finance director in 2006. He took over the role of company secretary in October 2012.

"We will be sorry to see Jack go in August,” said Paddy Power’s chief financial officer Cormac McCarthy. “He has made a major contribution throughout his time with the group, including as CFO from 2006 to 2012. I'd like to thank him and wish him well in his future plans.”

Ivan Kelly, IR analysis manager, will remain on Paddy Power's investor relations team, under McCarthy.

Shares in Paddy Power plc (Co. Data) (LSE:PAP) were trading down 1.16 per cent at €76.51 per share in London earlier Thursday.
