Cherry subsidiary Yggdrasil Gaming has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of Andrew Pegler as chief commercial officer and the promotion of Krzysztof Opalka to chief product officer.
The two newly created positions are the latest in Yggdrasil’s ongoing recruitment drive that has seen the company double in size over the past 12 months, leading to the expansion of its Malta and Poland offices and the development of a new commercial operation in Gibraltar.
Pegler will be based in Gibraltar and tasked with growing the supplier’s presence in the region. He joins Yggdrasil from Scientific Games where he has served as senior director of account management since 2013.
Krzysztof Opałka, who has been Yggdrasil’s head of front end development and operations since April last year, will take over as chief product officer based in Yggdrasil’s development office in Krakow, Poland.
Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil Gaming, welcomed Pegler to the team and congratulated Opalka on his promotion.
“As we continue to grow the business it is vital that we have the brightest minds and experienced hands on board, and Andrew and Krzysztof certainly meet those requirements. They will both play a key role in the future direction of the business.”
Commenting on his new role, Pegler said: “Yggdrasil is a very exciting business with proven high quality games, agile technology, and the best in-game promotional tools in the industry.
“We are live with bet365 already from Gibraltar and we have a lot of operators on the roadmap. I will apply my commercial skills, experience and network within iGaming to truly establish Yggdrasil in Gibraltar and beyond.”
