MGM Resorts International has appointed Debra DeShong as vice president of global affairs with responsibility for media relations and messaging strategies.
DeShong has more than 20 years experience of public policy, communications and international relations, most recently serving as executive vice president and managing director of Washington, D.C.-based strategic communications firm Subject Matter.
"Debra's decades of leadership in public policy and international relations, coupled with her expertise in messaging and strategy, make her a highly valuable addition to the MGM Resorts team," MGM Resorts executive vice president of global industry affairs Alan Feldman said.
"We are thrilled to add her to our talented workforce as we continue to expand our footprint worldwide."
DeShong also previously served as chief of staff to the US ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, coordinating with political leaders and stakeholders on issues such as the Trans Pacific Partnership trade agreement.
