Scientific Games has appointed former Nektan chief executive Leigh Nissim as managing director of its B2B interactive business.

Nissim stepped down as chief executive of Nektan in June to take up the role at Scientific Games, where he will oversee commercial management of the remote game server (RSG) and white label SG Universe product suites.

Nissim is an experienced gaming executive, having served in a variety of commercial and executive positions with the likes of Nektan, IGT Interactive and GTECH G2.

"I'm delighted to join Scientific Games at an exciting time," Nissim said. "The interactive business has positive momentum, and I'm looking forward to leading the teams across our global business to contribute to the company's continued growth and success."

The RGS business currently offers a portfolio of 120 licensed and original games to more than 70 partners across six regulated territories, while SG Universe offers solutions to help land-based operators engage players away from the casino floor. This includes the Mobile Concierge marketing suite and free-to-play casino Play4Fun.

"We are thrilled to welcome Leigh Nissim to the SG Interactive team and look forward to leveraging his experience, passion, and business savvy to take our RGS and SG Universe business to the next level," Scientific Games Interactive chief executive Barry Cottle said.

"We are confident that under his leadership, our B2B business will continue to grow at an accelerated rate as we focus on delivering an exceptional player experience through our leading library of online and mobile interactive games."

Nissim's appointment will also see Jordan Levin, a member of Scientific Games' interactive management team since 2012, step back from the division to focus on strategic initiatives and M&A as senior vice president of corporate development.

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (Co.Data) (NYE:SGMS) closed up 3.10 per cent at USD$38.20 per share in New York Tuesday.
