Swedish gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen has appointed Katarina Abrahamsson as its new anti-match fixing coordinator.
Abrahamsson assumed the new role Monday, having previously served with the regulator as a lawyer involved in the development of regulations for the country’s new gambling act, which comes into force on January 1st, 2019.
She will lead efforts at the Lotteriinspektionen, soon to be renamed Spelinspektionen, against match-fixing and betting related sporting corruption, in conjunction with Sweden’s council against match fixing.
