The German Football Federation (DFB) has launched an investigation into suspicious betting activity by three professional footballers from the Regionalliga West club Rot-Weiss Essen, all of whom have since had their contracts with the club terminated.
The investigation concerns the May 5th match between Rot-Weiss Essen and Borussia Dortmund II which ended with a 0-4 score line.
