Intrade unable to cover customer deposits; may liquidate

Dublin-based online betting site Intrade has warned customers that it may have to enter liquidation after discovering a US$700,000 shortfall in funds to cover customer deposits.

Intrade director Ronald Bernstein said “it appears that the company is in a cash ‘shortfall’ position of approximately $700,000 when comparing all cash on hand in company and member bank accounts with member account balances on the Exchange system".
