US States oppose Federal online gaming legislation

The National Conference of State Legislatures has said that it will oppose any efforts by Congress to adopt legislation that would pre-empt state authority over online gambling.

In a letter dated March 2nd and addressed to Speaker of the House John Boehner, Representative Nancy Pelosi and Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, the NCSL said that Congress should respect the sovereignty of states to either regulate online gambling or to prohibit it.
