A bill to legalise single-event sports betting in Canada won all party support during its third reading on Friday March 2nd, as lawmakers look to recapture billions of dollars worth of bets placed with offshore operators.
Introduced last year by Joe Comartin MP, Bill C-290 would amend the Criminal Code that prohibits Canadians from betting on a single sports event.
