Shares in Sportingbet plc climbed by more than 13 per cent in London today, prompting UK bookmaker William Hill to to issue a statement confirming that it is in the preliminary stages of considering a possible joint bid with GVC Holdings for the company.
William Hill and GVC are the latest operators to express an interest in acquiring the London-listed online gaming operator following attempts by Unibet, Ladbrokes and bwin in recent years.
