Swedish regulator the Lotteriinspektionen has confirmed that a 23 year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into attempted match-fixing in the country’s second-highest football league.
The unnamed man, understood to be a former footballer, has been arrested following allegations that he attempted to bribe players of Superettan team IFK Värnamo to fix a match against Göteborgs Atlet- och Idrottssällskap (GAIS) last year.
