Delaware iGaming market growth hit by player registrations decline

The Delaware State Lottery has posted a 16 per cent increase in net revenue for April from its real-money gaming operations, although player registrations fell for the fifth consecutive month.
Net revenue for April amounted to $240,496, an increase of 16 per cent versus the previous month. It is the strongest month yet for the state’s real-money gaming operations which began last November across Delaware’s three racetrack casinos (Dover Downs, Delaware Park and Harrington Raceway).
Since the launch of online casino games, total amounts wagered and net revenue has continued to grow every month, although two of the racetrack casinos recorded month-on-month declines in April.
Player registrations have dropped every month however, falling to a new low of just 406 in April, down 37 per cent versus the previous month.

Amounts wagered rose 10 per cent compared to March to $5,976,577, with table games representing 91 per cent of the total.
Delaware customers took home $5,810.158 during the month, leaving the Delaware State Lottery with net revenue of $240,496 for the period. Of this, table games represented 57 per cent, video lottery games 12 per cent, and poker rake and fees the remaining 31 per cent.

Delaware Park continues to dominate the market, accounting for 84 per cent of total amounts wagered. The racetrack casino generated net revenue of $180,900, up 37 per cent month-on-month, despite player registrations falling 38 per cent to 167.
Dover Downs saw net revenue drop 2 per cent to $48,553 following a 22 per cent decline in amounts wagered to $1,241,031. Amounts wagered from Harrington Raceway slumped by 75 per cent to $170,604, with net revenue down 56 per cent to $11,042.
Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway saw player registrations drop 21 per cent and 50 per cent respectively versus the previous month to 149 and 90.
