Germany’s Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof) has begun deliberations on the implications of Schleswig-Holstein’s secondary licensing regime, which will finally bring the long-running dispute between state-owned lottery WestLotto and Gibraltar-licensed operator Digibet to a conclusion.
The original case started out as a federal court case in Germany between Digibet and WestLotto, with the lottery securing a court order in 2012 barring the operator from offering its services to players in the country.
