Danske Spil has exclusive trademark rights, says court

Denmark’s High Court has ruled in favour of state-controlled operator Danske Spil in its trademark fight against UK bookmaker Ladbrokes, reversing a previous decision by the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen.

Danske Spil filed a lawsuit against Ladbrokes claiming that the UK bookmaker had improperly used its trademark in connection with its “Danish game, English odds” TV advertising campaign between May and September 2008.
