The biggest takeaway from the World Regulatory Briefing (WrB) in London last week (September 12th) was of an industry finally waking up and realising it is time to act.

UK Gambling Commission executive director Tim Miller did his best to rally the troops, when he challenged operators to provide a safer gambling environment rather than worrying solely about problem gamblers.

Miller presented the industry with an opportunity to change the media narrative and re-create the industry as one the public can trust. His emphasis on “safer gambling” rather than “responsible gambling” is an interesting gambit.
