Italy’s Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti unveiled plans Monday to raise over €2bn for the Treasury through tenders for thousands of new betting outlets, new lottery games, slots and land-based poker venues. The announcement came as Italian gaming giant SNAI confirmed its plans to acquire rival Cogetech in order to double its share of the slots market.
