Future of UK horseracing lies in Sports Rights

Gerry Sutcliffe MP, the former minister for sports, has said that the United Kingdom will most likely follow France’s lead and introduce sports rights to ensure that event organisers benefit from the betting industry.

Sutcliffe said the French example of an 8 per cent sports betting levy is a good example to follow in the UK and believes that sports rights will be introduced, “probably in three or four years’ time”.
