Telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom, owner of T-Mobile, looks set to compete in the soon-to-be regulated German sports betting market with its proposed acquisition of Deutsche Sportwetten GmbH (DSW).
DSW, which is yet to begin operations, is among a host of companies awaiting licence approval from German authorities to offer sports betting under the Revised State Treaty on Gaming, which came into force in July 2012.
