As part of its next step to pursue a private management agreement for the state’s lottery, Pennsylvania’s Department of Revenue has selected existing lottery supplier Scientific Games as a partner in the due diligence phase of the project, with the company confirming that it will not bid in the privatisation process.

Earlier this year in April, Pennsylvania issued a Request for Qualifications to pursue a private management agreement for the Pennsylvania Lottery, looking to maximise the lottery’s performance and increase revenues that support programmes serving older Pennsylvanians.

“Responses received following our April 2 Request for Qualifications illustrated that continuing exploration of a private management agreement is in the best interest of the Lottery," said Pennsylvania’s Department of Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser.
