PokerStars’ immediate hopes of entering the regulated US online gaming market were dashed Friday after a New Jersey judge ruled against its parent company Rational Holdings.

The company had secured a temporary restraining order on May 6th against Colony Capital, owner of The Atlantic Club Hotel and Casino, to stop Colony Capital from entering negotiations with a third party and continue with its January 2013 agreement to sell the Atlantic Club to PokerStars’ parent The Rational Group.
