Study confirms positive perceptions of gaming versus gambling

A new study published this week by the Journal of Consumer Research confirms consumers' differing perceptions of betting, depending on whether it is referred to as gaming or gambling.

The research was conducted by Ashlee Humphreys of Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and Kathryn A. LaTour of Cornell University, who analyzed newspapers including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal for the language used to describe online betting.
