Kalixa Group, the payment processing business owned by bwin.party digital entertainment, has been chosen by Italian gaming operator Sisal as the company’s payments partner.
The supplier will support Sisal’s growth by offering users a range of over 200 payment methods, providing risk management and fraud protection solutions, all run form a single platform integrating merchant account and acquiring services, and payment processing.
The solution also allows for simple and rapid account withdrawals to Visa, Mastercard or PayPal wallets.
Maurizio Santacroce, head of Sisal’s digital games and services business unit, described improving “customer satisfaction and development of payment services” as key priorities for the business, with the Kalixa partnership “a key step” in working towards these goals.
Kalixa Group chief executive Ed Chandler added his company was “to be working with one of the biggest players in the Italian gaming market.”
“This partnership further strengthens Kalixa’s position as the leading payment provider to the gaming industry,” Chandler said. “We look forward to bringing our twelve years of experience and expertise to help Sisal grow its business.”
Kalixa, which was formerly known as CQR Payments, has evolved into a stand-alone financial services business, processing 40m transactions valued at €2.6bn in 2012, prompting plans to increase the number of account holders and merchants accepting payments via the subsidiary, as well as plans to launch the solution into other sectors.
As well as processing payments for bwin.party and its Italian subsidiary Gioco Digitale, comprising around 85 per cent of transactions, Kalixa is used by analogue photography equipment retailer Lomography and Austrian railway company Westbahn.
