Ladbrokes chief executive Richard Glynn has claimed that a continued focus on the UK market offers the business the greatest opportunity to revitalise its fortunes, despite admitting that he would adopt a “flexible” strategy to bring the brand into new international markets.

Speaking following the release of the company’s interim management statement Thursday, in which Ladbrokes said that full year operating profit from its digital division is expected to be below market expectations, Glynn maintained that its core market represented the company’s “biggest opportunity” for growth in the medium-term.

“Over the next six months it’s all about delivery, allowing us to take advantage of the exciting opportunities that are still there,” he explained.
