888 chief executive Brian Mattingley has pinpointed the next four states which the company believes are likely to be the next to introduce online gaming regulation in the US, picking out California, New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania as having made “significant noise” about legalising online gaming.

Mattingley explained that while the development of intrastate regulations had been “erratic” so far, pointing to New Jersey’s hesitation whether to launch poker only or alongside casino, the quartet were the states “which appear to be ramping up their interest in online gambling.”
