New York-based XYverify Corp has become the first geolocation solution provider to have its products approved for use by licensed New Jersey online gaming operators following approval from the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
The company’s geolocation solution uses the carrier-secured location of each customer’s mobile phone to ensure they are physically located in New Jersey, allowing operators to ensure they are compliant with legislation.
The conditional waiver awarded to XYverify by the DGE allows the company to support all operators launching mobile casino offerings when the market goes live in November.
XYverify has partnered with LocationSmart, which becomes the company’s exclusive supplier of network location services, using cell tower triangulation and Assisted-GPS technology to cross-check device location with a postal address within the state.
“With today's NJ approval, XYverify is ready to support licensed NJ gaming operators and internet gaming solution providers with geo-verification services supported by proven LocationSmart technology,” said the company in a statement.
The company has already secured a Class II licence from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, but despite being approved in the two states, is yet to announce partnerships with any online gaming operators. Rival geolocation supplier, GeoComply, meanwhile has sealed deals with the likes of bwin.party, Bally Technologies and NYX Interactive.
XYverify becomes the second ancillary service provider to secure approval from the DGE, after payments provider Optimal Payments received clearance to launch its solutions in the New Jersey market.
