Svenska Spel subsidiary Playscan has signed an agreement to embed GamCare's problem gambling support services into the full range of solutions it offers to GamCare approved opeartors.
The Playscan solution provides players with detailed analysis of their gambling behaviour, offering an insight into how such habits may evolve and identifying tendencies that may lead to unhealthy behaviour or addiction. By integrating the GamCare services, users will be able to directly seek advice on how to tackle problem gambling issues and gain access to professional help.
Playscan’s chief sales officer Mark Knighton said that by providing direct access to GamCare’s services through the Playscan interface, users would gain access to “the highest level of consumer protection … when the player needs it.”
The partnership enhances the Playscan solution, which has been launched by a number of lottery companies in Europe, including France’s La Française des Jeux, Finland’s RAY and Swedish parent company and gaming operator Svenska Spel.
The business is also targeting expansion in the Chinese market, partnering with China-facing businesses FuSheng Interactive and Northberry AB in order to seal deals with licensed lottery vendors.
Playscan, formely owned by ICU Intelligence, was acquired by Svenska Spel in 2010, with current chief executive Andreas Holmstrom taking charge of the company in March this year after 3 years as COO.
