UK and Irish horse racing broadcaster At The Races (ATR) has agreed the renewal of its second media rights deal this week following an agreement with Plumpton Racecourse.
ATR will retain exclusive cross platform media rights excluding distribution into licensed betting offices in the UK and Ireland for the next five years until August 2019. ATR will also be the exclusive distributor of Plumpton's terrestrial television rights to UK broadcasters.
It follows a similar arrangement with Ripon Racecourse, which was also announced yesterday.
Matthew Imi, CEO of At The Races, said: “Plumpton is one of the best supported small Jumps tracks in the country, one that is both renowned as a strong nursery ground for star horses of the future and essential to the grass roots success of the sport in the UK.
“We look forward to our continued relationship with Plumpton Racecourse and helping to deliver further growth with Michael Moloney and the team.”
ATR expects to deliver improved media rights revenues for Plumpton Racecourse from the outset of the new term. As part of the new agreement, Plumpton Racecourse will be offered a seat on the ATR board and will be integrally involved in the strategic direction of its rights management.
Peter Savill, chairman of Plumpton Racecourse, said: “Plumpton is delighted to be renewing our agreement with At The Races, providing certainty for both parties for the next five years. We have been a partner track from the onset and have always enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Matthew Imi and his team.
“The directors believe At The Races is the best partner for Plumpton Racecourse to exploit our cross platform media rights, and they offer us valuable marketing and promotional support. We look forward to working in closer partnership with them, improving revenues and developing further our media rights proposition.”
