Greek lottery and gaming supplier INTRALOT will undertake the operation of a voluntary pre-commitment scheme for up to 30,000 electronic gaming machines (EGM) across the Australian state of Victoria following the signing of a 12-year contract.

INTRALOT Gaming Service (IGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of INTRALOT Australia, was selected as the preferred provider by the Victorian government in September 2013.

Following successful contract negotiations and a thorough technical and commercial due diligence process, INTRALOT has been awarded a 12-year deal to operate the pre-commitment service until August 2027, with the system planned to be installed next year before the official launch on December 1st 2015.

“The Victorian Coalition Government welcomes the agreement reached between the state of Victoria and INTRALOT and looks forward to continuing to work with IGS to deliver a world leading voluntary pre-commitment system for Victorian gaming machine players,” said Edward O’ Donohue, Victoria’s Minister for Liquor and Gaming Regulation.

INTRALOT said that the pre-commitment scheme will be a leading responsible gaming initiative, and be available across all 30,000 electronic gaming machines (EGM) operating in Victoria, including at the Melbourne Casino.

INTRALOT Group chief operating officer John Pantoleon said: “Following the successful implementation of the monitoring licence project in Victoria, we are very pleased to move together with the state to deliver such a world leading initiative in the important field of responsible gaming, since this is a core element of INTRALOT Group strategy around the world.”

The scheme will be voluntary for players, who will be able to set time and loss limits on any electronic gaming machine, track their play across the state and electronically access their personalised information at any gaming venue, or online.

“We are very satisfied to conclude this agreement with the government of Victoria,” said Steve Wooding, chief operating officer of INTRALOT Australia. “The pre-commitment scheme is another example of INTRALOT’s innovative technology and dedication to the principles of responsible gaming.”
