Scientific Games subsidiary SG Gaming has signed a five-year agreement with Rank Group to roll out a server-based gaming solution for all Mecca-branded bingo clubs in the UK.
The platform will be powered by SG's technology partner Playtech through its Videobet subsidiary and will feature exclusive content from SG.
These include Category B3, Category C and community games such as Rainbow Riches and WMS titles including The Wizard of Oz: Over the Rainbow and Zeus II. A selection of Bally Technologies content is also scheduled to be added at a later date.
The server-based solution includes a fully-networked terminal base with ticket in, ticket out functionality, alongside Videobet’s business intelligence tools to provide data insight and analysis, allowing Mecca to tailor promotions and offer free-play rewards to customers.
The roll-out of the SG Gaming solution will begin in the early part of 2015, with the installation plan involving a combination of terminal upgrades, venue network infrastructure and new terminal installations. This will be supported by a fully integrated training programme for Mecca staff.
SG Gaming managing director Phil Horne said he was delighted that Mecca had chosen his company to be its server-based gaming technology supplier following a successful trial roll-out in selected venues.
“This is a groundbreaking deal that represents a major step forward for the bingo sector,” Horne said.
“Mecca and SG Gaming have already demonstrated a strong working partnership in delivering a competitive gaming offer, and we are excited to continue this in the years ahead,” he added. “This fully integrated gaming solution will provide Mecca with a range of hardware solutions and operational efficiencies that are designed to drive cash box growth.
“We have invested heavily into our platform solution over the past few years and we are delighted to see the implementation of this solution into the bingo sector on such a large scale.”
Mecca’s head of slots, Mohammed Zabed, described the deal as strategically important for Mecca.
“The trials we jointly undertook demonstrated that the content provision, yield analytics and enhanced platform tools drive improvements in cash box revenue and customer participation,” Zabed said. “The SG Gaming content library, which includes player favourites such as Rainbow Riches, is key to the overall product offering.
“This is a strategically important agreement for Mecca and we remain committed to provide the best product offering available in the sector.”
