Greenwood ACRA has announced that it will cease operations and permanently close Atlantic City Race Course on Friday, leaving just three racetracks remaining in New Jersey.

The racecourse has been in operation for 69 years, but will close after posting eight years of losses. It is the latest institution to close its doors in the state as a result of the economic crisis which has also seen four Atlantic City casinos close in the past year.
