Live dealer market leader Evolution Gaming announced IPO plans earlier this month. Chief executive Jens von Bahr outlines his vision for one of the fastest growing companies in the industry.

There are not many companies that dominate their speciality like Evolution Gaming does. Its client list reads like a who’s who of the most successful companies in online gaming. Look at the names: 888, Betclic, Betsson, Full Tilt, LeoVegas, Mr Green, Danske Spil, Sportingbet, Unibet and William Hill. Only Playtech can compete in the field of live casino.

The company’s total revenue grew by 25 per cent to €48.5m in 2014, generating EBITDA of €17.0m, an increase of 50 per cent versus the previous year. In the current climate, Evolution would be an obvious acquisition target but co-founders Jens von Bahr and Fredrik Osterberg are building something. The IPO is a signal of their independence. It draws a line under the first period of entrepreneurial growth and marks the beginning of a new phase for the company.
