Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer and OpenBet CEO Jeremy Thompson-Hill explain why they do omni-channel better

The gambling industry is fond of buzzwords. The latest is ‘omni-channel’. It centres on the drive to seamlessly link play across all channels with single player accounts.

Omni-channel supposedly goes beyond simply offering mobile, land-based and online products. It looks to enhance customer experience by making gameplay as similar as possible in each channel, in turn facilitating play on any platform and helping increase player spend, while giving operators insight into player behaviour.

“An omni-channel is a seamless player-centric solution, developed by player understanding across every platform and channel,” OpenBet head of marketing Olivia Gilibrand explains. “It is not just about channels and the convergence of remote and land-based gaming.”

OpenBet and Playtech have emerged as the two suppliers driving this concept. The pair collaborated on the launch of Gala Coral’s Coral Connect solution but both want to take credit for the innovation.
