British bookmaker Betfred is set to expand the number of betting terminals available throughout its retail estate, signing a contract with Best Gaming Technology to launch 1,600 new self service betting machines in the UK.

The terminals will be built by Austrian gaming giant NOVOMATIC and mark the first time that the machines have been rolled out in the UK.

The machines integrate a variety of broadcast, data and pricing feeds, providing a unique automated betting experience while also enabling partners to integrate their own pricing feeds and liability management practices.

“BGT are delighted to cement our relationship with one of our oldest partners,” Best Gaming chief executive Armin Sageder commented. “Our target of having at least one BGT SSBT in every shop in the UK before the start of the 2015-16 football season is fast becoming a reality.”

“Betfred were one of the first UK operators to see the vast potential of the product and hard work on both sides over the years has led to this moment. Developments over recent years have seen the SSBT market explode and BGT are immensely proud to be spearheading this revolution in the world of sports betting.”

Betfred managing director Mark Stebbings added that he was delighted to expand his company’s relationship with Best Gaming.

“[Our] aim is to be at the forefront of self-service betting and with 1600 brand new Novomatic terminals, a first for the UK market - our customers will receive the ultimate sports betting experience.”
