The Spanish regulated online gaming market is dominated by male players, who spend more than double their female counterparts on average, a new study published by the country’s gaming regulator has revealed.

La Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) has presented data examining online player profiles in 2014 which reveal that a total of 824,026 players participated in some form of online gaming at least once over the 12 months. Of theses active players, 87 per cent were male, with the majority of these (89 per cent) aged between 18 and 45 years old.
