Now in his ninth year as chief executive of Playtech, Mor Weizer is more enthused about the company’s growth prospects than ever before.
Fresh from a barnstorming performance in the opening panel of the World Gaming Executive Summit in Barcelona last week, Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer is in an exuberant mood. He is closing in on a decade as CEO of the solutions giant having already spent a decade with the company – “I joined on July 1st, 2005,” he says, to be exact.
Long-haul CEOs are becoming increasingly rare in the gaming industry – Ralph Topping, despite being a 40-year veteran, only spent six as chief of William Hill. Patrick Kennedy has moved after a decade with Paddy Power. Even Gamesys’ Noel Hayden has moved on to a chairman role. But while many would be starting to ponder new challenges, Weizer has absolutely no desire to move on.
