Iconic poker pro Phil Ivey has partnered Las Vegas-based B2B fantasy sports solutions provider iTEAM Network to launch PhilIveyDFS on the supplier’s daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform.

Ivey is said to have been monitoring the growth of the DFS sector and is now set to release his own branded offering on the iTEAM platform in February.

“Over the past few years I've been looking for more ways to share with fans my perspective on daily fantasy sports,” Ivey said.

“I was honoured to have multiple options but iTEAM Network's focus on compliance and the core technology, along with the leadership of Gabe Hunterton, ultimately made it a pretty easy decision.”

Ivey is the youngest player to win 10 championship bracelets and is ranked third most successful player in the all-time high-stakes online poker rankings with more than $10.4m in winnings. He is ranked fifth in the all-time live poker tournament rankings with earnings of $23.8m.

“We are always looking for quality brands and partners in the world of fantasy sports. There is no elite-level individual that fans want to follow and learn from more than Phil Ivey,” iTEAM chief executive Gabe Hunterton said. “Phil's team engaged in extended due diligence, which we welcomed in light of our commitment to conservative regulatory practices and great user experiences.”

“There is a large crossover between poker players and DFS players,” Hunterton explained. “Adding the Phil Ivey brand will substantially increase network-wide player liquidity and prize pools.
