Gaming solutions giant Playtech has completed work on a new online casino offering for Sun Bets, the newly launched iGaming brand from popular British tabloid newspaper The Sun.

The launch of slots, table games and live dealer content coincides with the release of the Tabcorp-powered Sun Bets sportsbook, which will launch officially on August 6th.

Playtech says that the new casino offers players a selection of the best games it offers. This includes its popular Age of the Gods series, as well as forthcoming branded content from Warner Brothers and DC Comics, including slots based on Batman, Superman and Green Lantern. The supplier will also provide its progressive jackpot games, offering huge prizes, to the operator.

The live casino offering will feature roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables, including special game variants such as Playtech’s Prestige Roulette game.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Tabcorp and extending our already strong, existing relationship with News UK,” Playtech operations chief Shimon Akad said. “The fact that Sun Bets has launched our exclusive casino and live casino offerings is a great endorsement of our market-leading products and we look forward to working together to achieve fantastic results now and in the future."

Sun Bets has been launched through a partnership between Tabcorp Holdings and The Sun’s proprietor, the Rupert Murdoch-owned News UK. The new sportsbook is launching ahead of the 2016-17 Barclays Premier League season.

The tabloid’s gaming expansion is part of a plan to leverage its large customer base and media reach to launch a new iGaming offering, expanding beyond the Sun Bingo product.

Previously powered by Gamesys, Sun Bingo and its sister brand Fabulous Bingo is to be relaunched by Playtech’s Virtue Fusion subsidiary. The offering is currently in the process of migrating to the Playtech platform, before an official launch scheduled for late August.

“Playtech’s casino and live casino products have proven to be among the best performing in the industry for many years and we’re very excited to have a comprehensive selection of branded games for Sun Bets,” Tabcorp chief operating officer for keno and gaming Adam Rytenskild added.

“We are excited about the size of the opportunity that Sun Bets presents and a first-class casino is a crucial part of what we’re offering customers.”
