US gaming supplier Scientific Games has been selected by the Tioga Downs Casino & Resort to provide a range of products and related services as the venue transitions to a Class 3 commercial casino and resort.

The supplier secured the contract with the casino, located in Nichols, New York, following a competitive bidding process. It will provide new games, systems and table products, expanding its existing relationship with the venue.

Scientific Games has been awarded “a significant portion” of Tioga Downs gaming expansion, representing a slot floor share of more than 40 per cent, including 395 slot games and table products. This will be powered by a casino systems suite anchored by the SDS and CMP slot-accounting and player-tracking system.

The agreement has been sealed after the New York State Gaming Commission unanimously voted to award Tioga Downs a full Class 3 gaming licence, approving plans for an overhaul to upgrade it to a US$195m full-scale gaming resort.

The first phase of this expansion will see the current video lottery terminals replaced with slot machines; table games and a poker room introduced; and two more restaurants added to its existing restaurants, bars and harness racing track.

There are future plans for a 161-room hotel, spa and event centre; a 12,000-seat outdoor concert venue, as well as an outdoor pool and waterslide.

Scientific Games will launch a number of solutions for Tioga Downs, including its iVIEW Display Manager for on-device messaging, Elite Bonusing Suite, Bally Business Intelligence application, and TableView real-time table management system.

It will also roll out slots including 88 Fortunes, Bier Haus, Ca$h Wheel and Zeus, hosted on slot cabinets using the TwinStar platform, as well as table games such as Fusion Auto Roulette, MD3 and Fortune Pai Gow Poker.

“We are the only supplier in the industry that can provide Tioga Downs with a complete portfolio of products for its casino expansion,” Scientific Games’ group chief executive of gaming Derik Mooberry said. “With our extensive new product solutions at Tioga Downs, we will help the property execute on its player engagement, promotions and rewards program goals. We are honored to be Tioga's partner of choice as they significantly grow and expand their enterprise.”

“The decision to partner with Scientific Games for such a large portion of our casino expansion was driven by our commitment to offer our loyal patrons the most engaging and entertaining experience driven by the most robust and secure systems,” Tioga Downs’ senior vice president of operations Jeff Townsend added.

“With such an expansive breadth of product offerings, Scientific Games is able to offer integrated solutions to engage and excite our players across the casino floor.”

Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (Co. Data) (NASDAQ:SGMS) were trading at $10.53 per share in New York Tuesday.
