Swedish gaming operator association Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS) has blamed the breakdown of its proposed merger with gambling ethics council SPER on its prospective partner's refusal to accept its "individual-centric" consumer protection system.

SPER announced on Tuesday that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with BOS in July this year would not lead to the two associations combining.
