Canadian iGaming service provider Mojo Games and Mercury Gaming Solutions, a subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Essel Group, have launched a Mercury-branded skin on their India Poker Network.

The two companies have formed an equal joint venture to develop the online poker market in India, with Mojo Games providing the iGaming technology, payment processing, back office and marketing support solutions for the network.

The JV is Mojo's second partnership in an emerging market after it struck a deal to provide China's Alibaba Group with a poker platform, via the ecommerce behemoth's exclusive online social gaming provider VLeague Internet Technology Company, in December 2016.

Mojo's partner in the India Poker Network, Mercury Gaming, is a subsidiary of Essel Group, an Indian conglomerate active in a range of sectors and owner of Playwin, one of India's largest gaming and lottery companies.

The Mercury-branded poker site, the first to launch on the network, will soon be joined by a Mojo-branded site, with Baadshah Gaming, a subsidiary of land-based operator Pride Group, also preparing to launch its own skin.
