Trevor Croker began his tenure as chief executive of Aristocrat Leisure today as the supplier announced strong growth projections for 2017, backed up by its fast-growing social casino business.

It follows a strong performance in its 2016 fiscal year, which saw revenue increase by 34.5 per cent to AUD$2,128.7m and net profit climb 69 per cent to $398.2m.

Aristocrat's social business performed particularly well in 2016, growing to become the industry's fifth-largest by gross revenue, up from 10th place two years ago. Since the end of November, the operator has grown to be the fourth-largest social gaming operator, behind Zynga, Playtika and IGT's DoubleDown Casino.
