The first dedicated eSports venue on the Las Vegas Strip opens today at Luxor Hotel and Casino.
The 30,000 square foot Esports Arena Las Vegas features a main competition stage, gaming stations, two-story video wall, VIP rooms, bars, and production facilities in the main hall, alongside a virtual reality experience and an interactive history of gaming display.
The venue opens tonight (Thursday March 22nd) to invited guests and on Friday to the general public, with the opening weekend showcasing the arena’s versatility across professional esports, high-stakes tournaments, daily gaming, and interactive entertainment.
The venue is operated by Allied Esports, which opened its first dedicated eSports facility in California in 2015, and has since expanded to include properties across North America, Europe and China.
Allied Esports is a joint venture between World Poker Tour owner Ourgame International, Chinese online games provider KongZhong, and Chinese sports events and venues operator iRena. Its aim is to establish the Esports Arena Las Vegas as the premier destination for major eSports tournaments and competitions, akin to Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden or Wembley Stadium.
