Denmark's former gambling monopoly operator Danske Spil has partnered with London-listed payment solutions provider SafeCharge to optimise deposits and withdrawals at its newly launched Youbet sports betting platform.

Danske Spil has implemented the supplier’s host payment page solution SafeCharge Cashier and added options for Danish debit card Dankort as well as direct connections with Visa and Mastercard.

“Sports betting is becoming an increasingly popular activity in Denmark,” said Niels Erik Folmann, chief executive of Danske Licens Spil. “Our customers are demanding a seamless payment experience from any device with their preferred payment method at any time.

“Following a quick and seamless implementation process, we are delighted to work closely with the team of SafeCharge experts on delivering the best user payment experience for our customers.”

Danske Spil launched the SBTech-powered Youbet brand in March, which operates alongside its existing OpenBet-powered betting and gaming products.

“We are excited to support Danske Spil with smart payments technology to boost further its expansion,” said SafeCharge chief commercial officer Yuval Ziv. “We are confident that SafeCharge Payments Engine's various assets will continue to deliver the highest levels of customer experience and payment conversion.”

Shares in SafeCharge International Group Ltd (LSE:SCH) were trading up 0.60 per cent at 333.00 pence per share in London Monday morning, 4.03 per cent below their 52-week high of 347.00 pence per share set last week.
