London-listed gaming solutions provider Nektan has signed a deal to offer Metric Gaming’s sports betting content in the United States.

Metric will work with Nektan’s US operating subsidiary Respin to offer horse racing and sports betting products to land-based casino operators via Respin’s Rapid Games mobile platform, which secured its first contract with an undisclosed Tier 1 US casino operator last year.

"The Supreme Court’s decision signals a sea change in the US,” said Martin de Knijff, chief executive of Metric Gaming. “We are impressed by the Rapid Games platform, and believe that its multi-device approach gives our state-of-the-art horse racing and sports betting counterparts a price and functionality advantage over legacy based competitors in both the retail and iGaming spaces."

Nektan interim chief executive Gary Shaw added: “The combination of Metric's leading sports and race products, and Nektan's Rapid Games Mobile Casino, creates a large opportunity for both companies working in partnership.

“The sector will look to a combination of sports and casino and having a partner combining both will create additional opportunities for both companies."

Shares in Nektan plc (AIM:NKTN) were trading up 14.89 per cent to 27.00 pence per share on the news in London Thursday morning.
