Fantasy sports software provider Fantasy Sports Interactive (FSI) is powering a new site for AfricaBet, a Gibraltar-based operator targeting the continent's iGaming market.

The partnership has seen AfricaBet launch a fantasy football offering to coincide with the FIFA World Cup, which features alongside its core real-money betting product.

FSI ultimately plans to launch a series of games combining skill-based and real-money wagering elements for AfricaBet, helping to improve cross-sell and customer retention, as well as attracting new players.

The initial launch will be followed later this year with the roll-out of a variety of fantasy sports products ahead of the 2018-19 football season, with a National Basketball Association game to follow in October.
