Stockholm-listed operator Kindred Group has selected Scientific Games’ SG Digital division as its technology partner for the United States.

Kindred has agreed an initial three-year agreement, with an option to extend for another two years, to utilise SG Digital’s platforms in New Jersey.

This includes the supplier’s player account management platform, Open Platform System (OPS), and game aggregation technology Open Gaming System (OGS), which the operator said would accelerate its ability to serve US customers in the near future.

The agreement covers the state of New Jersey, where SG Digital already has a license, with both companies aiming to extend the partnership to other US states as and when appropriate.

“We are delighted to partner with SG Digital in the US, giving us swift access to the market and our coming US customers a truly great gambling experience on a top technology platform,” said Kindred US senior vice president Manuel Stan. “Kindred has always put the customer at the heart of our operations and ensuring that they can enjoy gambling in a safe, secure and stable environment is crucial for us.”

SG Digital senior vice president of gaming, Dylan Slaney, added: “This partnership signifies a bright future for SG Digital and Kindred in New Jersey. The growing market will benefit greatly from our Open Gaming System and Open Platform System technologies, and we’re thrilled to work with Kindred.”

The deal comes just weeks after Kindred announced a partnership with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City to pursue a casino service industry enterprise license in New Jersey.

Shares in Kindred Group plc (STO:KIND) were trading down marginally by 0.79 per cent at SEK113.30 per share in Stockholm Friday morning, while shares in Scientific Games Corporation (NSQ:SGMS) closed down 5.30 per cent at $30.35 in New York Thursday, prior to the announcement.
