Sports betting and fantasy sports operator DraftKings has concluded an agreement with Penn National Gaming to launch its online sportsbook in West Virginia at the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.

The licensing deal has been agreed with an affiliate of Penn National Gaming and will allow sports fans in the Mountain State to access the DraftKings Sportsbook online, pending regulatory approval.

The agreement follows the launch of DraftKings retail sports book in Mississippi and retail and online sportsbooks in New Jersey.

“We are thrilled to work with Penn National Gaming to bring our online sportsbook product to West Virginia,” said DraftKings co-founder and chief revenue officer Matt Kalish. “We look forward to serving sports fans in the Mountain State and building on the immense success we have had in leading the New Jersey market.

“With over 90 per cent of sports bettors returning to play after trying DraftKings Sportsbook, we are confident we can deliver on being the best place to play for West Virginia consumers.”

DraftKings Sportsbook will offer a range of online sports bets, including live in-game betting, and new features such as the Sportsbook Pools for the NFL, NBA and NHL.

“We are pleased to help welcome DraftKings to West Virginia,” said John Finamore, senior vice president of regional operations for Penn National Gaming. “We believe the state will certainly benefit from DraftKings’ tremendous brand awareness and expertise in providing customers a quality online sports betting experience.”
