Sports betting solutions provider Playtech BGT Sports has extended its sportsbook partnership with Codere to cover the Spanish and Latin American markets.

The new contract runs until late 2022 and includes the operator’s retail and online operations in Spain, Mexico, Panama and Colombia.

Playtech BGT Sports will continue providing Codere with over 9,000 betting terminals and retail tills across these markets, which is expected to be expanded in the coming months.

“We’re very pleased to have extended our deal with Playtech BGT Sports, which is amazing news for our growing business across Spain and Latin America,” said Codere CEO Vicente Di Loreto. “Choosing Playtech BGT Sports allow us to provide both great content and an engaging customer experience.”

Playtech BGT Sports chief commercial officer John Pettit commented: “We’re very excited to have concluded a deal with Codere which will see us distribute our products to them across retail and digital in both Spain and Latin America for another four years.

“We know the type of user journey we can provide, combined with the range of betting events and markets, and ability to build accumulator bets has driven additional margin for them in multiple markets and we look forward to helping them grow their customer base and performance levels even further.”

Shares in Playtech plc (LSE:PTEC) were trading up 2.54 per cent at 387.80 pence per share in London Wednesday morning.
