Betsson Malta chief executive officer Jesper Svensson speaks to Gaming Intelligence about a tough but fulfilling year.
This time last year, chief executive officer Pontus Lindwall pulled no punches when unveiling the company’s annual report. He branded 2017 a “turbulent year” and vowed to get Betsson “back on track” with a programme that would take the company back to basics.
Gaming Intelligence published a commentary on the turnaround headlined ‘In Pontus We Trust’. The battle might only be half won but the first concrete signs of Lindwall repaying that trust are appearing. Last week Lindwall felt confident enough to announce 2018 as a “turning point” for the company.
Lindwall has made some decisive changes. The first was to return from a spell as chairman to oust Ulrik Bengtsson as group chief executive and appoint Jesper Svensson as chief executive of Betsson Malta in September 2017.
We speak to Svensson at ICE Totally Gaming and following the publication of the company's annual results. He is a happy man.
